La Banque (Royale). September 2, 1720. Cinquante Livres Tournois. No.261826. Not signed, as usual. Printed on laid, watermarked ''Billet de Banque'' paper. 165mm by 110mm. Uniface, typeset note, with block letter indent and embossed bank seal. Indent, partial ''QUE''. Pick Type A23. Extremely Fine plus, a vertical fold, some pinholes, but bright and vivid. However, there is a small chip off the left indent at the ''U''. Still, a lovely note from this last series and very scarce. These are very much underrated compared to the January 1, 1719 notes.
Ex Wayte Raymond Estate, 1957-58.
There were 2.7 million notes issued of this denomination on this series.
