
Thomas Jefferson Equal and Exact Justice Medal, 1867 (1872). Gold, 25.3mm, 8.98 grams. Musante JAB-26. Brilliant Uncirculated. Obv. Civil bust r. JEFFERSON. Rev. Equal and Exact Justice quote, characteristic rope-like borders. Neil E. Musante in his study The Medallic Work of John Adams Bolen, (Springfield, MA 2002) believes Bolen conveyed these dies to J.W. Klein of Philadelphia, who later conveyed them to the Chapman Brothers. The dies were later given to the American Numismatic Society. Perhaps one of three known in Gold, struck by Klein in 1872.
