 State of New York. June 15, 1780 Act. Four Dollars. No.49. Signed by Bancker and Mynderse; countersigned on the back by Yates Jr. Printed on thin paper, watermarked 'CONFEDE/RATION'. Standard size, designs and imprint as used on Maryland and other State issued ''Guaranteed'' notes. Without red interest stamping on face. Another attractive example from one of the rarest issues on the 1780 Guaranteed Acts. There were only 1,413 notes authorized, the same as each of the eight denominations used.
A second denomination from this series and a superb example. More than likely, one of the finest notes seen on the Act date. Obviously a key note that with its great eye appeal will enhance any advanced collection or ''kick start'' a State type set of Guaranteed notes into a high echelon. Very Fine. Looks higher grade from the face. Vertical fold, right side fold, two long corner folds, and handling. Short top right split with glassine strip patch on the back. Top center pinhole. Complete face margins and excellent paper surfaces with subtle toning. The back color is still strong. An important New York note on the series and in general.
