State of North Carolina. May 10, 1780 Act. Three Hundred Dollars. Aut nunquam tentes aut perfice....State of North Carolina. May 10, 1780 Act. Three Hundred Dollars. Aut nunquam tentes aut perfice. No.3084. Signed by H. Vipon and Cooke. Printed on thin laid paper. Typeset face with ornamental borders. Simple pattern back, similar to 1778 notes, with imprint 'Printed by JAMES DAVIS, 1780'. The only $300 motto type on the series and the only $300 denomination on the State. There is no print figure listed, but certainly in the 1,000 note range for both paper types. Typical condition usually seen on most notes from this Act. Fine or so. Multifolds, too numerous to count. However, still with much paper body. Severely trimmed and roughly so at the left end. Moderate, scattered toning. Will fit into any set missing one as this is rare in all grades.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
