1909-S V.D.B. MS-64 RB (NGC). Nice things find their way to American Numismatic Rarities, sometimes in pairs, other times in small groups, but here in a truly notable array of 1909-S V.D.B. cents that are well struck, attractive, not fussed with (recolored or cleaned), and which check in as being thoroughly worthwhile on every level. While NGC has called them "RB," the term "RD" would be equally applicable for the majority of them, at least in comparison to other pieces that are noted as fully red. The presently offered piece has some areas of brown toning on the obverse around the portrait, but otherwise is nearly fully orange.
