1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 9-E (R-5+). Mailed Bust Left. 155.5 grains. Fine, but very unevenly struck. Obverse is off-center to the left, with the left side being very weak. What is either a planchet fissure or a die crack connects the center of the obverse to the edge at 3:00, where there is a small die break as well as a tiny planchet crack. The left reverse is well defined, while the right reverse is very indistinct, due to the misalignment of the dies. Although not terribly valuable, this specimen will afford the Connecticut specialist hours of research pleasure.
