 1870 Brilliant Proof. Marvelously squared wire rims enclose subtly glowing mirror fields and meticulous devices that are virtually medallic in their crisp quality. Although 1,000 Proofs are reported for 1870, the number of surviving examples is noticeably less. Pale rose and orange-gold toning define this lightly reflective specimen.
