 James Madison Indian Peace Medal, 1809. Silver. First Size. First Reverse. J.IP. 5, Pr.40, B.20. Fine to Very Fine. Obverse not signed. 75.8mm. Rims 4.1 - 4.2mm thick. 2,605.2 gns. No obvious witness line. Lighter silver gray than the first but also with pale blue and rose iridescence. Neatly holed at the top; no loop. Minor rim marks, surfaces with a myriad of tiny nicks, the medal clearly an awarded one. Rare as noted above, with perhaps about 15 known.
