1793 Breen 2, Cohen 2 (R-3). 15 Leaves Right. Very Fine-20. Here is a perfectly centered specimen of this first year of issue for the Half Cent, featuring a Flowing Hair Liberty head facing left. Beaded borders are completely visible on both sides, if a trifle weak due to an overall surface graininess. Fields are generally medium golden brown, with areas of apple green patination mostly isolated to the central and upper obverse. Some faint ancient scratches on the obverse have long since toned over. Here is a very appealing, well detailed specimen of an important early American type coin. Adding to its fascination is the coin's rotated reverse, some 45 degrees from its normal orientation.
