Ancient Coin Jewelry. 5th Century B.C. Silver Drachm from the Black Sea city of Apollonia Pontika set in a 14k Gold Bezel. Struck circa 450-400 B.C., the coin which grades Nearly Extremely Fine depicts the facing head of a gorgon sticking out its tongue on the obverse, and an anchor flanked by the letter A and a crayfish on the reverse. The bezel is composed of a rope-braid frame with four braided frame clasps and a round loop cinch and loop (stamped 14k). A handsome and eminently wearable piece of the celator's art.
