1799 S.189. Extremely Fine-40 in overall detail, uniformly porous surfaces show traces of corrosion....1799 S.189. Extremely Fine-40 in overall detail, uniformly porous surfaces show traces of corrosion. Date spaced '1 7 99' and LIBERTY are sharply defined on this obverse. The reverse displays clear legend, date and denomination with an ancient cut at 'UNI'. This example of the most desirable Draped Bust date displays an overall granular light brown with lighter areas on the reliefs. Here is a distinctly better than average example of this sought-after Cent, well within the CQR Condition Census. The search for a 1799 launched Philadelphia's Joseph J. Mickley on his collecting career and through him, jump-started numismatics in the U.S. NCS EF Detail, Corroded.
