1794 S.49. Short Bust, Closed Wreath. About Uncirculated-50 or thereabouts. This is a boldly struck, rich glossy brown example of what Dr. Maris called the Young Head, showing a high and crisply defined obverse rim, date with 4 tilted left, touching the truncation. 'R' of LIBERTY virtually rests on the hair. Reverse rim is low, wreath shows leaves almost touching at the top, the fraction shows a small '1' over distinctively spaced '1 00'. This handsome coin places well within the CQR and Noyes Condition Census for the variety and will be a positive addition to any high quality collection.
