1797 Br.3a, C.3b (High R-4). Lettered Edge. Low Head, Triple Leaf AME. Fine-12. This generally pleasing coin is distinguished by light, near-tan devices. Both sides show general surface porosity, though the coin is generally glossy, without the ''dry'' look often associated with porous pieces. The strike is a trifle off center, the obverse shows the head placed too low, with a short pole to the cap. The reverse wreath is highly distinctive with 17 leaves on each branch and a bold triple leaf below 'AME'.
