Here is a dramatically sharp strike of the first, high relief date. The locks over Liberty's ear are exceptionally well defined, placing this lustrous coin light years ahead of most available examples. A delicate suggestion of clear gold and a very restrained dash or two of deeper gold in Liberty's hair ''hallmark'' this thoroughly pleasing coin.
