1798 B.24. Very Fine. Nearly the 'a' die state but lacking the die crack to the 'B' of LIBERTY, but the other obverse die cracks are present. Light silver-gray with darker fields and pleasing. The surfaces are free of adjustment marks or edge problems. A cluster of minor nicks are found hidden in Liberty's hair below her ear. Both dies had been lapped by the time this coin was struck, and it is interesting that the reverse die went on to be used in 1799, and is quickly identifiable by a die crack which connects the branch end to the rim below.
