Closed '9' in the date with the knob of the '9' essentially touching the loop above. Bright fields and devices enjoy a full measure of icy mint frost. The obverse exhibits bold definition on Liberty's head and shield, as well as some light rim crumbling between 12:00 and 1:00. The reverse is that of a Choice example; there being outstanding detail in the feathers and legends, accompanied by surface quality that far exceeds the norm. Examples of this important one-year type coin are very rare in full Mint State. A specimen of the caliber offered here would certainly be extremely difficult to surpass! In fact, we would not be surprised if there were less than 25 or so survivors that exceed the quality of this lovely coin.
