1795 O.116 (R-4). Two Leaves Below Wing. Brilliant Uncirculated and virtually Choice. Toned with a mixture of russet-gold and sky blue over the obverse and reverse, with muted silver present at certain angles. There are adjustment marks on the obverse, which extend around much of the rim with some faintly crossing over Liberty's face and hair. A strong loupe will find a light scrape on Liberty's neck and bust. Sharply impressed over most of the devices and legends, although some of the stars on the right side of the obverse are weak, perhaps due to the adjustment marks in that area. The eagle's breast and thigh feathers lack definition on the uppermost regions. Identifiable by a tiny edge tick between 'RT' of LIBERTY on the obverse.
The present example and most others of this variety show extensive die clashing, seen on the upper left obverse and lower left reverse near the rim, also with an outline of Liberty's head below the left wing. Certainly in the Condition Census for the variety, with a couple Uncirculated coins reported by Steve Herrman, and another pair of Choice About Uncirculated coins just below those. The present coin is not yet included in this Census, and may have claims to the Finest of those reported.
