1797 JR-2 (R-4). 13 Star Obverse. About Uncirculated. Virtually two-tone silver-gray and russet-gold toning dramatizes both sides. Centers display unusually crisp details for added appeal. This coin represents an extremely high grade for the date and variety. The editors of the John Reich catalogue knew of only three examples that might grade higher, Lovejoy:9 and the Hain Family coin being among the nicest seen; the Eliasberg coin was only Very Fine.
