1816 Newcomb 2. Mint State 63. Randall Hoard variety. Both sides exhibit partial mint red, fading to light tan, and quite attractive. The surfaces are clean with minimal signs of handling. Identifiable by a short series of nicks in the left obverse field and a trivial toning speck below 'AT' of STATES. Usual later die state with extensive rim crumbling along the upper right obverse including above stars 11 and 12, and recutting on the date. Wonderfully appealing and well struck.
