1801 S.224. Blunt 1's, Denomination 1/1 00. About Uncirculated-55. A beautiful coin for the specialist which boasts traces of lustre near the devices and through STATES OF. Identifiable by a few microscopic nicks, mostly below the ribbon, but one tiny pin prick is found right of the Liberty's lovelock, and a minor speck is located near the edge on the obverse at the 3:00 o'clock position. The strike is reasonably sharp on the obverse, and minor softness is noted on the reverse leaves. Early die state. Noted to be tied for 3rd finest known with one other in the Noyes 1990 Condition Census.
