1793 Chain, AMERICA. S.4. About Good-3 overall with the obverse being essentially that of a full Good-4. LIBERTY is bold, however there is a bit of weakness at the bottom of the date on the obverse. The outline of Liberty on the obverse is entirely complete, as are the chain and central legends on the reverse. There are a few ancient hairline scratches beneath the obverse patina that are entirely consistent with the grade. Only traces of the peripheral legend are evident on the reverse, and there is a planchet flaw at the upper left reverse rim. A generally smooth and respectable example of this rare and popular one-year type coin. Accompanied by an ANACS certificate upon which this coin is graded AG3/3.
