 1887'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. This coin presents an important opportunity for the high end gold specialist or anyone pursuing a registry set of Liberty Head Double Eagles. This stunning example is one of only three coins graded at this level with only one coin graded finer at MS65. All four of the aforementioned specimens reside in PCGS holders with a grand total of zero examples graded above MS63 by NGC. The present coin is completely engulfed in satiny mint glow. The strike is bold, imparting all of the fine details of Liberty's hair and the eagle's feathers. The color is a beautiful pale yellow gold with no copper spots or other distractions. The obverse is approaching the Gem classification but the reverse is consistent with the Very Choice categorization. A gorgeous coin that may not appear in the numismatic market again for years and an opportunity to acquire a true rarity that should be seriously considered. PCGS MS64.
