1938'D' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Always in demand in high grades, the present coin boasts creamy white lustre with a dusting of peripheral russet-gold. The surfaces are clean and attractive, and the strike better than average although Liberty's thumb is a trifle weak. Identifiable by a few tiny ticks on the lower wing which are somewhat hidden by the feather details. Mintage plunged to only 491,600 for the year.
