1921 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. Toned with finely patterned russet-gold on the lower obverse, less so above with ample lustre beneath. The reverse well matched with a dusting of toning from long storage in an album or envelope. As to the strike, it is sharp on Liberty's skirt lines, but a touch soft on her thumb and head, both of which display partial definition. Excellent surfaces for the grade, with no distracting nicks, scuffs or scratches. Identifiable by a minute planchet flaw located in the field below the fourth wing feather down close to the rim on the reverse. Clashmarks are present near the eagle's head, and faint die lines are seen around the motto. All in all, a delightful coin for the grade, and always in demand as one of the key dates to the series for the paltry mintage.
