Bright with a hint of golden haze starting to form over the surfaces, and generally well struck with Liberty's thumb clearly outlined. Minor softness on her head and upper skirt, as well as the eagle's thigh. The surfaces are attractive with minimal disturbances in the lustre; a couple of scuffs in the right obverse field and a reeding mark near the back edge of the eagle's wing will serve to identify this specimen. A scarce date this nice, and downright rare finer.

Ex Stack's Auction, December 1977, lot 66.
