1884 WB.102. Repunched Base of '4'. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. An outstanding example of this date that exudes lustre in the fields and retains well frosted devices. Furthermore, the surfaces are incredibly clean and show scarcely any signs of handling. For identification purposes, there is a minute tick below Liberty's mouth and a minute flake missing from the planchet below the right wing of the eagle. Well struck as are most of this issue. A single pair of dies were used to coin the circulation strikes, with a reported mintage of 4,400 coins for the year. This is one of the tiniest mintages of the decade. For the collector, this coin would be a prize to represent this date.
