1878'CC' WB.101. About Uncirculated. Light silver-gray with hints of lustre in the protected areas....1878'CC' WB.101. About Uncirculated. Light silver-gray with hints of lustre in the protected areas. The surfaces are clean and attractive, as the present example lacks the rim and surface problems so often found. The strike is reasonably sharp for this date, and no trace of the reverse die crack is present, confirming an earlier state of the dies. While overshadowed by the rarity of the 1878'S' issue, the Carson City Half Dollars are quite difficult to find in their own right. A delightful collector coin which is seldom found so problem-free and attractive.

Ex Nate Smith Collection (Stack's, March 1973, lot 968).
