1824/1 O.101a. Brilliant Uncirculated. Attractive peripheral gold and russet while the centers remain...1824/1 O.101a. Brilliant Uncirculated. Attractive peripheral gold and russet while the centers remain bright. Probably cleaned in the distant past, as the surfaces show faint hairlines including a few on Liberty's cheek, and the reverse shows patches of cloudiness in the fields and subdued lustre. The strike is average with trace softness on the highest curl below Liberty's cap, and on the eagle's talons. On this later die state, two thin cracks extend through portions of the legend. Liberty sports a double profile from her chin to forehead, and there is a small toning spot centered on her chest.

Ex Westchester Collection (Stack's, December 1973, lot 1038).
