1814/3 O.101a. Brilliant Uncirculated, with claims to Choice. Frosty mint lustre throughout, and boldly executed by the dies. The obverse sports the encircling die crack from the rim near the bust around through all the stars save for the one left of Liberty's cap, where it dives down skirting that single star. Another die crack slices through the first three digits of the date. Bold clashmarks are present on each side. Die rust is seen within Liberty's curls. Identifiable by a shallow scuff on Liberty's neck above the left edge of the curl above the clasp, and a tiny edge disturbance above her cap. Close to if not within the lower Condition Census for the variety, and a coin which has been off the market for 37 years.
Ex R. L. Miles, Jr., II Sale (Stack's, April 1969, lot 1234).
