 1842'D' Small Date, Small Letters. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. This pale yellow-golden specimen enjoys razor-sharp definition accompanied by an ample amount of frosty mint lustre. The fields and design elements, furthermore, are far smoother than normally encountered on any date Liberty Head Half Eagle. It goes without saying that Mint State Dahlonega Mint gold coins regardless of their date or denomination are certainly rare. The issue offered here is particularly noteworthy, however, in that the entire surviving Mint State population is likely no more than 12-15 pieces.
