Frosty mint lustre is most vibrant at the peripheries and is accompanied by overlying delicate shades of coppery-red toning. As is typical of this date, there is some degree of softness at the central reverse, though the wreath and legend is bold. The obverse definition is sharper, as most of the hair detail is intact and the stars are well struck. A very scarce date in any condition, the total mintage being only 2935 pieces. Full Mint State examples such as the coin offered here, furthermore, are legitimately rare. NGC MS61.
