1897'S' Brilliant Uncirculated and displaying a most uncommon degree of prooflike reflectivity in...1897'S' Brilliant Uncirculated and displaying a most uncommon degree of prooflike reflectivity in the fields on either side. The strike is chisel-sharp and is augmented by a delicate wisp of golden toning. This date is very elusive in full Mint State, and is even more troublesome to acquire with lustre such as that offered here.

In examining a number of the Barber Half Dollars in this collection, it is quite evident that our consignor had a particular penchant for coins with mirrored fields. Such forward-thinking collectors of the 1960's and 1970's were certainly ahead of their time as virtually any early type coin with uncommonly encountered, visually appealing traits such as this have handsomely rewarded those same purchasers.
