 1838'O' Brilliant Uncirculated. Here is a desirable example of this elusive No Stars Liberty Seated issue. The obverse exhibits delicately muted mint frost beneath areas of pale olive-russet toning. The reverse enjoys wisps of jade and subtle rose iridescence over satiny surfaces. A rare issue at this high grade level, as the only New Orleans date to be coined of this two-year No Stars Seated Liberty type. It is doubtful that more than 50-60 specimens have managed to survive in all Mint State grades.
