1821 JR.7. Brilliant Uncirculated and reflective in the fields. Toned with deep gun metal blue and gray over lustre. The strike is reasonably sharp on the obverse including the stars, although the eagle's talons display minor softness. Moderate handling marks are best seen with a magnifier, and this coin is identifiable by a tiny nick below the 'F' in OF. While not a particularly scarce variety, the present coin is worthy of any advanced collection. Bold center dots on the obverse and reverse, peculiar to this die pairing.
Ex Americana Sale (Stack's, December 1998, lot 1250).
