MCMVII (1907) Roman Numerals, High Relief, Wire Rim. About Uncirculated. This deep yellow-gold example shows very light circulation as revealed by the splendid detail of Liberty's face and knee and the highest points of the eagle's wing. A few hairlines can be located under a glass. The delicate fin of extruded metal that forms the Wire Rim has taken some hits, however, creating a distinctly misleading appearance of extensive circulation. Here is a perhaps more affordable example of America's most acclaimed coin design, created through the interaction of President Theodore Roosevelt and the greatest American sculptor of his age, Augustus Saint Gaudens.
