1911'D' Superb Gem Brilliant Uncirculated and a very early strike from this pair of dies. The definition...1911'D' Superb Gem Brilliant Uncirculated and a very early strike from this pair of dies. The definition on either side is quite sharp; there being only a trace of softness at the eleventh and twelfth obverse stars, as well as at the juncture of the shield and right wing on the reverse. The obverse field still exhibits light die polish lines, and the reverse features remarkable prooflike reflectivity. These highly distinctive striking characteristics are augmented by nearly flawless surface quality and an ever so subtle blush of lilac toning. In light of the splendid visual appeal of this specimen as well as its technical superiority, it is doubtful that more than a half dozen or so survivors of this date could rival the presently offered jewel. We therefore have no reservations in placing this coin among the finest known!
