1843'O' WB.101. Normal Date. Brilliant Uncirculated, with claims to Choice. There is subtle doubling of the mintmark to the West, but this does not match that of the WB.102 variety, which shows the mintmark doubled to the South. The reverse die shows traces of die rust on most of the devices, and there is a lumpy die crack connecting the 'DO' of DOL. Sharply struck and attractive for the silver-steel color, with some lustre remaining. Extensive rim crumbling on left side of the obverse edge, and a thin die crack from the left foot of Liberty to the rim.
Ex unknown source, January 1965.
