A white coin that is sharply struck throughout and appealing. There are a couple of nicks, including a sharp one above star nine, another hidden one near the left edge of the ground base where Liberty is seated, and a third above the first 'T' of STATES. A different reverse die than previous, the present coin has the mintmark placed more to the left, and heavy die file lines are seen running diagonally through the vertical shield lines. The Small Date obverse die used to coin this and the previous example shows die file lines just above the shield near Liberty's right hand. No die cracks are seen. Another opportunity to purchase this elusive and popular variety.

Lot # 1124 Session 1
