1811 O.112 (R-4-). Small 8. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. A lovely example of this elusive variety which retains ample mint lustre to please the eye, and orange-gold toning with flecks of russet and blue mixed in. Fairly well struck, although the left obverse stars are blunt on their centers, but the balance of the coin is reasonably sharp. Apparently an early die state of this pairing, with four round lumps near the first '1', and the die crack from Liberty to star twelve thinner than usual. Trace hairlines limit the grade and tiny nicks can be found with a magnifier, and these combine to nudge the present example into second place in the Condition Census behind the Norweb/Farley coin.
