1872'CC' Var.101, there being only one known variety of this date. About Uncirculated and still retaining most of its mint frost beneath a pale shade of lilac-gray toning. The surfaces are generally smooth and appealing, as there are no marks or defects that require special mention. With Mint State examples of this rare issue being virtually nonexistent, an example of the caliber offered here is about as nice as one could possibly ever hope to obtain!
It should be pointed out that this same reverse die was used to strike Carson City Mint Dimes from 1871 through 1874.
