1867 Var.102 (R-5). Though we conclude that this specimen is indeed a Var.102, it does not exhibit any of the doubling said to be present on this variety at the extreme right wreath on the reverse. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. Delicate russet-golden toning accents frosted design features and reflective fields. Heavy ''as struck'' die striations are evident on either side of this early strike. This very elusive date enjoys a total mintage of only 6,000 business strikes and 625 proofs. In fact, this issue boasts the lowest mintage in the entire Liberty Seated Dime series! The all important 1871'CC', 1873'CC' No Arrows (a unique issue), 1873'CC' Arrows, and 1874'CC' Arrows bear mintages of 20,100, 12,400, 18,791, and 10,817 respectively. PCGS MS64.
