1866'S' Var.101. Small weak mintmark. Brilliant Uncirculated. Pale gray surfaces offer subtle lavender-golden overtones. Legitimate Mint State coins of this date are quite rare indeed, much more so than most collectors realize as it is highly unlikely that more than 10 or so such pieces are extant!
The mintmark style used on this coin is first encountered in 1865 and is in noticeable contrast to the thicker, bolder mintmark observed on many coins of this date.
