1831 JR-1 (R-1). Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. Obverse type: Liberty's capped bust facing left. LIBERTY engraved around the base of her cap, 1831 below her bust. Reverse type: Modified heraldic eagle derived from the Great Seal of the United States of America. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the upper half of the rim. E PLURIBUS UNUM on a scroll above the eagle's head. '10C' denomination below the eagle. Only a few are known in grades as high as this. The obverse is light gray while the periphery on this side is toned in deep gold, nearly brown. The reverse is a very attractive combination of light gray in the center, deeper brown and gray around the periphery.
