1811/09 JR-1 (R-3). Brilliant Uncirculated. Obverse type: Liberty's capped bust facing left. LIBERTY engraved around the base of her cap, 1811/09 below her bust. Reverse type: Modified heraldic eagle derived from the Great Seal of the United States of America. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the upper half of the rim. E PLURIBUS UNUM on a scroll above the eagle's head. Denomination '10 C.' below the eagle. A second outstanding specimen of this one variety only year. Both sides of this piece are toned in an attractive, medium silver gray shade. There is light iridescent gold toning visible in places. Struck from the broken state of the reverse die, with multiple linear breaks running in from the periphery towards the center.
