1796 15 Stars. O.101 (R-5). Extremely Fine. Beautiful lilac gray tones give this example an eye arresting allure. There are no contact marks that warrant mention. Extremely faint adjustment marks do not affect any of the devices and are mentioned for accuracy. Besides being a rare variety, the Draped Bust, Small Eagle Half Dollar is very scarce as a major type. This type was only produced in 1796 and 1797 with a total mintage of just 3,918 for both years. An attractive and important coin that is sure to elicit strong bidding. NGC XF40.
