Undated (circa 1667) St. Patrick (Mark Newby) Halfpenny. Large Letters. Vlack 1-B. Reeded edge. 149.7 gns. Fine, or better. Choice, chocolate brown surfaces are very smooth and absent any specific flaws. Centers are a bit weakly defined, as expected, but all design elements are clearly delineated and on flan. Metallic, light olive-gold colored brass splasher covers about 70% of the crown, flowing into the field below. Here is very eye appealing, well chosen specimen that would hold an ideal position in a type set of colonial coins.
Ex Norman W. Pullen, privately, September 1978.
