1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 64-t. Morristown Mint on Morristown Mint (Large) Planchet. Double Struck. 126.3 gns. About Extremely Fine. Glossy, deep chestnut brown surfaces exhibit only trivial roughness in the fields. The centers of both sides are weakly struck and rough as a result, a condition endemic to these lighter, thinner versions of the large planchets. Double striking has expanded this coin to a wopping 31mm in diameter at its widest, with a second set of denticles clearly visible at lower right obverse and upper right reverse.
