1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.6-KK. Draped Bust Left. 142.6 gns. About Uncirculated or so from...1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.6-KK. Draped Bust Left. 142.6 gns. About Uncirculated or so from a technical standpoint. One will be hard-pressed to find much actual wear on this coin. Rather, it exhibits some of the typical flatness of strike inherent in the Draped Bust Left series. The most weakness is at the obverse effigy's drapery and at the reverse female's head; but on the overall this specimen is actually quite well struck for one of these, with fine hair detail, drapery detail (both sides), and globe detail that are all quite pronounced. In addition to some minor verdigris, one must also note a rather large inherent planchet flaw at upper obverse that also manifests itself on the corresponding area of the reverse. Despite these surface blips, the surfaces are overall quite hard and glossy, lending an overall quite pleasing appearance to this condition census specimen of a common Miller variety.

Ex Greenwald & Jackson Collections (Bowers & Merena, September 1995, lot 3122).
