1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 2-A.1 (R-5+). Mailed Bust Right. Roman Head. 152.8 gns. Fine. Dark brown surfaces are uniformly porous in the fields and noticeably smoother on the relatively well defined design motifs. The distinctive ''Roman Head'' is clear, while the reverse exhibits the usual weakness in the seated figure. The 2-A.1 is a very scarce variant of this popular head type. A splash of white ink on the obverse lead us to a very crude and smeared, inked attribution on the edge. It is unfortunately impossible to say by whom or when this edge attribution was made.
