1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony. Pine Tree Threepence. Noe 37 (R-5). 17.0 grains. Very Fine, neary Choice....1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony. Pine Tree Threepence. Noe 37 (R-5). 17.0 grains. Very Fine, neary Choice. Perfectly toned in a rich silver gray hue, this well centered specimen is missing the tops of much of the legends as a result of dies that were too large for the intended planchets. The upper and lower obverse are somewhat obscured as a result of the late state of this die, while the central tree and the diagnostic die break at the second 'A' of MASATHVSETS are clearly visible. PCGS VF30.
